circuit city credit card
Summary - The Circuit City Credit Card from Chase allows the cardholder to earn 5 points for every dollar spent at Circuit City stores. Reward points are valid for 3 years and can be exchanged for Circuit City gift certificates. Find out more about this card.

Rebate Formula - The Circuit City credit card allows cardholders to earn five points for every dollar you spend at Circuit City stores. You earn one point for every dollar you spend on "other purchases". Reward points are valid for three years. Once you accumulate up to 500 points you can redeem them for Circuit City gift certificates (500 points for $5.00 gift certificate). You can choose up to five certificates within one redemption. You can also choose the "auto redemption" function whereby a $5.00 gift certificate will be sent to you once you have accumulated 500 points. You can earn unlimited Cirbuit City points.

Fees - The Circuit City credit card has no annual fee. The apr is prime rate plus 9.49% or 11.49%. The 2-cycle average daily balance method (including new purchases) is used to calculate monthly balances.

Verdict - The Circuit City Credit Card is one of the better "retail store credit card" because they allow you to earn 5 points for every dollar you spend at Circuit City or circuitcity.com. You can also redeem unlimited points. Bear in mind that if you opt for one of their special financing deals, you will not earn 5 points per dollar spent. This card will suit those who shop frequently at Circuit City and would like to use their reward points to get even better deals there. One of the attractive feature of this card is that you can get your gift certificate for as little as 500 points.

Alternatives - Those who want the flexibility to use their reward points for other non-Circuit City rewards may want to consider the Citi® Diamond Preferred® Rewards Card. This card allows you to earn five points for every dollar you spend at standalone supermarkets, gas stations and drugstores. You can also choose to redeem your points for Circuit City gift certificates. Under the Citi ThankYou Redemptions Network reward program, 3,000 points gets you a $25 Circuit City gift certificate, 5,000 points gets you a $50.00 certificate and 10,000 points gets you a $100.00 certificate.
